Industrial placements and T-Levels

These placements are sourced around the Trust in different areas.

These placements are ‘hands on’ work experience placements across the Trust. The majority of your placement will be in year 2 or your course. It will involve you working for 2 days per week within the department completing the work that has been given to you to do and relevant to your course or could with prior arrangement be a block placement. This will be dependent on your college curriculum. This could be assisting with the day to day running of the office, sourcing data or working on a specific project. If you are in a clinical area, you will assist with the daily activities on the ward / clinic and be supervised at all times or supporting Lab Technicians / Scientists if you are on one our healthcare science placements. For both clinical, non-clinical placements and lab placements you will need to complete on line and / or face to face mandatory training and have full health clearance through the Trust’s Occupational Health team. Depending on your placement as DBS (police check) may also be required.

Applications

If you are interested in a placement at CUH please speak to your Careers Advisor at college in the first instance and obtain an Industrial Placement Application form. Once you have completed the application form, please send directly to your Careers Advisor who will submit it on your behalf to Julia.schumann-pratt@nhs.net.  This provides us with the authorisation from the college for you to attend a placement if successful.   If shortlisted, you will be required to attend an interview.

If you have any questions about an industrial placement please email Julia.schumann-pratt@nhs.net

We aim to have placements in clinical areas, administration and finance, but these can change at short notice depending on capacity within the team to host a student.
