Important Notice – Updated 25 April 2022
Please note although Work Shadowing placements for Sixth Form students at Cambridge University Hospitals and Royal Papworth Hospital are still postponed due to Covid, Elective placements are taking place. Please see the link in the information below if you wish to apply for an elective placement at the Trust.
Next review date for work shadowing placements is 25 May 2022
Unfortunately as advised by the Infection Control Team we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone all work experience / shadowing placements. This is until the end of the academic year due to the number of Covid-19 cases. This decision has not been taken lightly and we appreciate how difficult it is in these times to find placements. This will be reviewed on a regular basis, next review date 25 May 2022. If our circumstances change, notification will be sent to all schools and colleges and the website will be updated.
This is unfortunate, but the safety of all staff, patients and visitors must remain a priority. This will be reviewed on a regular basis and in the event we are able to accept placements before spring and on agreement by the Infection Control team, we will notify all schools and colleges directly and the website will be updated accordingly.
If a placement had been agreed and was set to go ahead, we will ensure this placement is placed on our priority list for when we are able to offer placements again. If you have already sent an application form, please Do Not resend it. We will be in touch in the coming weeks/months regarding your request.
